In this new\nwork, follow three generations of Black gay men all living under one\nroof, and grappling with their own truths of what it means to be\nBlack and gay, as they share their own perspectives on what their\nidentity means as defined by how they were raised. The show is an\nexploration of pride, pain, and patience through the unflinching eyes\nof fathers and sons. It asks a potent question: how can we rebuild\nour families in the face of tragedy? As an estranged father trying to\nreconcile with his son in the face of Covid and cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026WHAT THE END WILL BE is directed by\nMargot Bordelon, who is also directing the premiere of The Brightest\nThing in the World by Leah Nanako Winkler, with a star studded cast\nincluding POSE star Ryan Jamaal Swain as Antoine, Emerson Brooks,\nknown for his role on the hit TNT drama &#8220;The Last Ship&#8221; and\nNetflix&#8217;s &#8220;Uncoupled&#8221;, as Maxwell Kennedy, Gerald Caesar,\nfrom Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, as Tony Kennedy, Randy Harrison,\nfrom the off-Broadway production of Atomic A New Musical here at\nRoundabout as Charles, Keith Randolph Smith, last seen in 2017s\nJitney at the Manhattan Theatre Club Broadway Production, as\nBartholomew Kennedy, and Tiffany Villarin, off of the Vineyard\nTheatre New York Premiere of Do You Feel Anger?,  as Chloe. A\ncreative team consisting of set designer Reid Thompson, costume\ndesigner Emilio Sosa, lighting designer Jiyoun Chang, and sound\ndesigner Palmer Hefferan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mansa Ra made his debut as a playwright\nwith TOO HEAVY FOR YOUR POCKET in 2017. The New York Times named him\na \u201cMarquee Name, now in the making,\u201d while New Yorker praised him\nas, \u201ca gifted writer who will be amazing to watch as his work\ngrows.\u201d Mansa went on to write two more plays THE DANCING GRANNY\nand SHUTTER SISTERS, winning him numerous awards including the\nLaurents Hatcher Foundation Award, the Alliance Kendeda National\nGraduate Playwriting Competition, the Edgerton Foundation New Play\nAward, and the Fellowship of Southern Writers&#8217; 2017 Bryan Foundation\nAward for Drama. After the pandemic, he returned with IN THE SOUTHERN\nBREEZE, which pulls from the author\u2019s own suicide letter to give\nencouragement to other Black gay men.
