Al Hirschfeld Theatre

Get excited for what The Guardian calls “beautifully crafted” as Moulin Rouge! The Musical will be coming to you for a limited season in New York, produced only in New York at Al Hirschfeld Theatre this fall. Don’t miss this stunning and dazzling show as it comes to your location and find out what made the Broadway world swoon time and time again this coming September.

Hand in hand with Baz Luhrmann, the director of the previous film showing last 2001, Moulin Rouge! The Musical is a live staging of the said movie. Also following the tale of Christian and Satine and their developing romance, the plot is presented with a colorfully made set accurate for its 19th century time period, while augmenting its song arrangements to not only include the original music from Baz Luhrmann's film, but also renditions of pop songs that were not available when the previous film was produced.

Praised by many as one of the greatest shows from Broadway, Moulin Rouge! The Musical is only available for a limited time at Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Be one of the first to secure your seats and buy your tickets while available for this Saturday 6th September 2025 showing!

Moulin Rouge - The Musical

Al Hirschfeld Theatre

The film, Moulin Rouge, by Baz Luhrmann gained nominations at the 74th Academy Awards and grossed nearly $180 million worldwide. This instant hit musical film about passion and misfortune stayed in our hearts and is now a hit stage production performed around the globe. The Broadway show had a long and rocky start since there were merely whispers of a Broadway adaptation in 2002 and 2006. But in 2016, it was finally announced that this fan-favorite film would join Broadway. The show finally debuted in 2019 but took a year-and-a-half break starting in 2020 thanks to worldwide events, but it has been up and running since mid-2021 with great success.

The story of American composer Christian and courtesan and showgirl Satine will melt your heart. Christian meets talented French Bohemians who want to write songs for a play and decide to partner with him to get their play into production at the Moulin Rouge theater. Satine works at this theater, but it's quickly failing and could close forever. Satine wants to save the Moulin Rouge and considers seducing a wealthy Duke who has shown interest in investing in the theater to save it. However, Satine and Christian cross paths and feelings become complex. Of course, the Duke doesn't like the situation and threatens to chancel his investment, and threatens Christian's life if he continues pursuing Satine.

This breathtaking tale of love and glamour will have you on the edge of your seat. You'll be swept away by these characters and their musical performances. The jukebox musical combines many songs to create catchy medleys you won't stop singing for weeks. You'll hear the songs from the movie from Patti LaBelle, Elton John, and more, with modern hits from Katy Perry, Lorde, and many others. If you love pop music hits from the past 50 years, you won't want to miss this enthralling story that will have you moving to the rhythm as you enjoy the show.

Whether you grab your friends, family, a date, or go alone, don't miss "Moulin Rouge!” The charmingly feisty play tells a story about love, truth, and beauty and does so with glam. Pop some champagne and enjoy a romantic night trying to save the Moulin Rouge with Christian and Satine.
